There are more than 20,000 businesses in Bucks County. Only about 200 have responded so far to the Bucks County Planning Commission's new survey of their needs.
Margie McKevitt, the county's chief operating officer, pleaded Wednesday at the commissioners meeting for more businesses to respond. "We are woefully undercounted in response," she said.
The county wants the input to decide how to use the $121 million in American Rescue Plan funds it is receiving from the federal government this year to address economic woes caused by the pandemic, as well as infrastructure needs to better serve county residents and those working in the county. It also wants businesses to provide suggestions through the survey for Bucks 2040, the comprehensive plan now being developed by the planning commission to outline growth strategies for the next 20 years.
